{"id":1277,"date":"2013-10-23T14:08:54","date_gmt":"2013-10-23T21:08:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/web.unbc.ca\/~aleza\/?p=1277"},"modified":"2013-10-23T14:08:54","modified_gmt":"2013-10-23T21:08:54","slug":"senior-forestry-internship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alrf.unbc.ca\/?p=1277","title":{"rendered":"Senior Forestry Internship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are inviting applications to fill our Senior Forestry Internship.\u00a0  The position is open to students currently enrolled or graduating this  year from a natural resources management program (undergraduate or  graduate level).<\/p>\n<p>The work term is May 5 through Nov. 28 of 2014 (7 month term).<\/p>\n<p>This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in a broad range of forest projects.\u00a0 Projects planned for 2014 include:<\/p>\n<p>Forest Planning and Stand Assessments<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strategic assessment of 25-50 year old plantations and second growth  stands, including the development of treatment recommendations<\/li>\n<li>Silvicultural projects for the enhancement of forest productivity<\/li>\n<li>Forest inventory<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Operations and Silvicultural Obligations<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Road maintenance<\/li>\n<li>Mechanical brushing and other silvicultural treatments as needed<\/li>\n<li>Silvicultural surveys and assessments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Forest Research<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Installation and re-measurement of various research trials<\/li>\n<li>Assist diverse research projects as needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Educational Programs and Infrastructure<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design and layout for various forestry demonstration sites.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain and upgrade trail system<\/li>\n<li>Hosting of various tours and educational events<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please view this<strong> <a title=\"Senior Forestry Internship\" href=\"http:\/\/alrf.unbc.ca\/2013\/SeniorIntern.pdf\">job description<\/a> <\/strong>for further details<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are inviting applications to fill our Senior Forestry Internship.\u00a0 The position is open to students currently enrolled or graduating this year from a natural resources management program (undergraduate or graduate level).
