Mike Jull
MSc, RPF, Co-Manager
 

 

Mike is one of two co-managers of the Aleza Lake Research Forest. Mike graduated in the Forest Resource Management program from the Faculty of Forestry at UBC in 1983 and is a Registered Professional Forester. He also received his Master of Sciences degree in Silviculture from UBC in 1990, where his work investigated growth and management of Interior BC subalpine mountain forests. Mike has been involved in forest management throughout most of the BC Interior and the north for about 25 years. Mike is originally a native of Vancouver, and he has lived with his family in Prince George since 1990.

Colin Chisholm MSc, RPF
Co-Manager
 

 

Colin started working for the research forest in 2012 and is the second co-manager. He received a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Management with a major in Forestry from UNBC in 2000 and is a Registered Professional Forester.  In 2021, he completed his Masters of Science in Natural Resource and Environmental Studies, having examined this impacts of forest management on plant community composition and forest structure in Spruce and Sub-alpine fir dominated stands. Colin has a special interests in geographic information systems, remote sensing (e.g. LiDAR), soils, and loves to spend time with his family, especially in the woods and mountains.
Ashley Sutherland, RPF
Assistant Manager 

 

 

Ashley has earned a technical diploma in Natural Resources and Environmental Technology from the College of New Caledonia, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Forest Ecology and Management from the University of Northern British Columbia. Ashley is a Registered Professional Forester whose scope of practice has mainly been silviculture related. Her approach to forest management is fundamentally linked with her personal values, having a love of the natural environment and a firm belief that Mother Natural must be respected in every aspect of our lives. Outside of work, Ashley enjoys spending most spare moments with her animals, and enjoys any great adventure, be it a weekend road trip or long-haul travel.

Cameron Flinton, FIT
Project Supervisor
 

 

Cam is the Project Supervisor at the ALRF. He completed his Bachelor of Science in 2022 with a major in Forest Ecology and Management with a minor in Biology and Conservation from UNBC. Cam worked in the forest industry throughout his undergrad studies and before becoming the Project Supervisor he was a Senior Resource intern at ALRF. Cam is originally from Williams Lake but has lived in Prince George since 2018. Cam loves sports and has a particular interest in hockey and golf.
